Default DIGI001: S/PDIF for External Effects

I am trying to connect my TC Electronics M2000 to the 001 via S/PDIF to record effects entirely in the digital domain. The 001 manual says this is possible.

I can send S/PDIF signals from 001 to the M2000 fine but cannot return S/PDIF to the 001 via an AUX input (NOTE: the M2000 analog outputs are returning the signal fine). I've checked the cables and followed the 001 manual (mirroring off, etc.) but it still doesn't seem to work.

Any suggestions?

Hi Loran, Ive got my TC electonic M-one connected to my spdif. Make sure you have adat selected in the optical option box, not spdif, I dont know why but thats how I got mine to work.
Good Luck,

I just connected a SRV3030D in this loop, and I had to select ADAT as well. Maybe the SPDIF is normally routed to the optical only when it is selected for output to optical and you must route ADAT to the optical to allow SPDIF to connect to the RCA output. While that actually makes some sort of bizzare sense, If I were DIGI I think I would try to clear up the confusion in the next manual version. I am using Logic/DIO, so the setup screens are slightly different.

ThomCat,

I just picked up a SRV3030D, and would like to try using the SPDIF in/outs on my 001. I don't have a problem with using analog devices routed through the 001, but haven't got the SPDIF in/outs working . Can you point out the specifics I need to know to route this correctly. Its a bit confusing.
