Uninstall issue

I am running Windows 10.

I installed Pro tools 8 and then i updated it to Pro Tools 8.05.

All was okay, but all of a sudden my malware detector warned that protools.exe was infected with ransomware anbd deleted it.

I am trying to uninstall Prottols so that I can reinstall it but when I click on uninstall, I get an error message saying:

Pro tools 8.0.5 Updater cannot be used for this version of protools. You must purchase a Pro Tools 8 upgrade from the online store.

So...how am i suppossed to uninstall Pro tools?

Any tips would be much apprecuated. i just want to imstall it from scratch, but I have to get rid of the existing version frst.

8.0.5 was qualified for up to Windows 7, but not Windows 10. Therein could lie your problem.

You are wasting your time. You need to upgrade Pro Tools. And you should have A/V c r a p ware disabled or not installed to start with.

Hi folks and thank-you.

I have pro tools installed on a separate partion that runs Windows 7, and that's where I do my pro tools stuff. But I alos had it on the Windows 10 partion. I didn't do anythuign major on the Windows 10 platform, but it was good having Pro Tools on there is I needed to have a quick look at soemthign without having to reboot to the Win 7 partiion. Thus. I am trying to uninstall it completely and reinstal it.
