Default Protools 9, MBOX 3: Not recognising Hardware

Hi folks.

One of my students is running PT9 through the new Mbox on a Packard Bell Easynote TM86, i3 CPU, 64bit 4GB RAM.

The computer itself recognises the MBox, saying it is connected and even showing a healthy signal when we attached a microphone. We then plugged in an Mbox2 which was recognised by the computer, but again ProTools said it could not find any hardware.

The student then installed PT8 to see if there was any issues. The Mbox was recognised but again Protools said it could not locate the hardware.

Changed cables, restarted computer etc - every troubleshooting technique has been employed. PT9 has been working fine on this computer previous to these problems.

Again, it's important to note that the device IS being recognised by the computer, just not Protools.

Thanks,

Did you install the separate driver? PT9 now requires a driver install as a separate(and preferably first) step. All previous versions of PT had the drivers built into the installer.

Hi Albee.

Good shout, I totally forgot about that. PT9 and the Mbox were working fine on the computer previously. These thigns sometimes happen when new software is installed so I'll get him to try installing the drivers then re-installing PT9.

Thanks.
