Please help I'm desperate

Hi All,

My ProTools LE 8.03 has been running fine but I've recently been working on a bigger than usual project - to many of you it will still seem small!

It is a soundtrack to a radio piece - approx 40 mins of audio on the main track and then little bits and pieces of 6 audio tracks and 6 midi tracks.

My protools keeps getting the Mac wheel of death and crashing every time I even try and do a small edit or move a region. The CPU is only running at 5% and I have 80% disk space on my MAC HD.

Here are my computer details:
iMac mid 2011, OSX Version 10.9.5
2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
12GB 1333MHz DDR3

Any help would be so appreciated I'm really freaking out as my project is due soon.

Was everything working correctly before on a different session with the same setup?

Hi Josh (scuse my manners before!) Yes it was all working perfectly until this morning. I did get some warnings about playback but it was fine and was no where near as bad as it is now. I can't even zoom in or out without the wheel of death appearing.

I could really be anything. Pro Tools LE was never tested for OSX Mavericks.

It would would be worth upgrading to Pro Tools 12.7 if this session is critical.

Pro Tools 12.7 supports 10.9.5.

Do you think it could be plug ins for MIDI? Normally i don't use Xpand - I usually only use compression/eq/reverb plug ins so this is the first time I've used instrument plug ins...it is XPAND2 so pretty sure it's the latest version.
I think i can download a protools update LE 8.05 (i'm on 8.03) too - do you think this would help?

Ok thanks Josh - I might have to cough up the dough and upgrade. Does ProTools 12 work with MBOX2?

MBox 2 is only supported up to Pro Tools 11.
