Default Problems with F1,F2,F3,F4,F5,F6,F7,F8 Shortcuts

I cant use the F1,F2,F3,F4,F5,F6,F7,F8 shortcuts with my new thin aluminum mac keyboard that comes with the Power 8 core with ProTools 9.0.2. I unchecked all the respectively boxes at the System Preferences Keyboard Shortcuts and it wont work. Whats real rare is that I unplugged this keyboard and plug an old one(2004year) and everything works perfect. How can I make my new keyboard to work?

You were very close to solving your problem. Under System Preferences > Keyboard there's another tab next to Keyboard Shortcuts just labeled Keyboard, click on that. Then check box that says "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" that disables the special functions that apple pre-programs into the newer boards. but once you click this you won't be able to use any of the function keys as their specials without holding the fn key.

If you ever feel the need/desire to make some of the function keys do their "special" mac function, and some do act like normal function keys, look for a free Mac app called functionflip. Just google it. I lets you set them individually. I use it to keep the volume controls as special (so they still control the volume) and the rest are normal for DAW usage.
