003R+Factory, PT8LE(8.01cs1) hangs when splitting audio file

Hi, I've had some minor errors before with my PT8 rig(003R+F), like PT suddenly crashing and such, but yesterday it went straight to hell.

Whenever I try to do a split(Cmd+E) PT hangs, sometimes for ever and sometimes for a minute. CPU usage for PTE goes up to 154%(good hang).

EDIT: This only happens in one spesific project. I've tried to make a good bunch of tracks inactive, but whichever file I try to split, PT hangs. And now for good.

So what to do? I guess the project file or something messed up, but should I do a "copy to new project", import it all to a new session or what? There isn't a "clean session file" in there right?

Another question: I've got Presonus Faderport in HUI mode. And it works good other than sometimes I can't just click on a track to make the faderport use that track but have to bank up or down, which takes time. This seems to be random, I can't explain why...

I solved the issue about the system hanging when splitting files. It seems PT made up a whole bunch of .L .R files of one file, making the whole file system in PT unstable. I also got alot of CPU usage from that, that's also solved now.

Solution: Just select all unused files and regions in the project.

The Faderport issue still stands though, I'd appreciate it if someone could help.

When pt hangs at the splitting, that is a known issue. The workaround for that is to turn off "separate operates on all related takes" option in the preferences.

I can't help you in the faderport issue.
