Read the General Troubleshooting thread at the top of the forums and make sure you go through everything suggested there. If still no luck, post a Sandra Report so we can better help you. Good luck

number of things jump out at me...

1) is ram timimg set correctly?? usually DDR2 800 ram will have timings of 4-4-4-12...at least the better modules. not sure about your brand. check your specs to confirm.

2) cache sizes on HDDs are very small. tryin' to run PT8 with these specs will 'probably' give problems.

3) the VIA chipset on the ASUS P5K mobo's were/are problematic. i have the ASUS P5K Deluxe with Q6600 proc. when we tested these systems over 2 years ago now, we discovered the problem with the VIA chipset. get a DIGI approved PCI F/W card.

4) if you cannot make any changes to your system from a cost standpoint then go into your playback engine settings and make and test changes to your 'DISK and CACHE' settings.

hope that helps.

+1 all good advice. And to add, i believe Digi now recommends SP3 for XP. Also are you on 8.0.1? you should be if you are not.

Is this on EVERY session of just one or two? Using things like Disk Cleanup will compress your files and make them not play, so if you have done this recently you will need to uncompress your audio and fade files, any compressed files will be in BLUE text. So check your hard drive and session files. And i assume you are recording to a separate hard drive not to the OS drive correct, and not to a USB either.

Hello!

After reinstall the system operative, and start since the begin installing program and drives, I got the solution and PT8 is working perfect!

Maybe start with a clean SO its the best solution when one cant find the solution.
