Please Help....more channels digi 001

I am looking to expand the number of channels I can record at once on the 001...I have heard digimax 8 channel "something or other" is the way to go???

I am not familiar with the "ins and outs" of expanding the 001...please help me if you can...I want to do more live cuts in my home studio, and 8 channels isn't cutting it.

I am concerned only with clarity (of sound) and latency....any help is appreciated.
