Default ProTools 2020.11

Looks like they removed Voice Count from System Usage window in Pro Tools Native, or is it just a bug??

I'm finally able to go to the lowest buffer in an HDX2 session at 96K without any drop outs and issues. I was having lots of problems before this release with this session at the lowest buffer. I'm happy with it!

Installing on my 5,1 running Catalina, I am glad to see the fixed the QuickTime import audio issue but bounce to movie is still beta... hmm. At least they released it before my perp ultimate renewal time is up.

Good that it will run on OSX 10.13.6. However I can find no list of bug fixes. I hope they fixed the MIDI event list bugs.

edit for additional:
Dammit - they STILL haven't fixed the MIDI event list bugs which Avid support has acknowledged exist. Phooey.
I do like the splash screen and the dark mode gui (when I first opened it it came up in dark mode) though. Oh well it looks like I'll be staying on PT 2019.6 as that MIDI event list stuff is paramount to my workflow.

We'll see when these systems start being torn down.

As I said in another thread, for now the 16GB memory limit gives Avid more time to sort out their stuff... but I also hope they do mention an Arm roadmap on Thursday.
Yeah, the RAM is onboard the M1 chip. The first ones only go up to 16GB. I'm SURE that will change in further generations of the chip.

You can import and bounce to QT again on Catalina.

Let's see.. audio to midi integration together with Melodyne, who can smell ARA support later? Sure, not yet.

Yes, but unfortunately it re-transcodes the video. Even if the video is exactly the same - like h264 to h264.

That means sitting through the agonizingly long wait for it to generate a new video file. Just tried a 2 minute offline Bounce and it took over 5 minutes because of the transcoding. At least in the old Mojave Quicktime Bounce to Disk the video is just passed straight through with immediate results.

very sad about this implementation.

I can confirm that recording at low HWB is better optimized. Until now, I've never been able to use anything below 64 with my HDN+Omni. Just now dropped it to 32 and put four tracks in record. Been tracking without a hitch for 8 minutes, and latency is practically nonexistent (without latency inducing plugins, of course).
