Thats the thing, can't remember because I wasn't doing anything special, I was just trying to locate a clip to move it, maybe I got the hold of it and it crashed when I dragged it.
I'm pretty quick at playing and stopping and my guess is that made the crash in collaboration with some plugin thats not that fast booting up :)

Or a graphical issue... seen a new crazy one on a clip group allready, looked like full scale noise blast. The region was ALL blue, not a sign of a waveform, but then zooming in and out, on occasion it jumped into a normal view..

Buggy bugg bug

the guys and gals making pro tools spent a lot of extra time on bug fixing and stability this release so we're glad that its noticed, and certainly hope we didn't break more stuff :) If we did let us know just as soon as you find it and we'll get it into the bug system.
Hello Connor,

Congratulations, guys and gals at Avid! I must commend Avid for finally beginning to take our important issues seriously, and for making the customer base feel that their problems are now being taken care of. You must agree that paying a year's subscription for upgrades yet having to roll back to an old version (because the new ones don't work as expected) is nothing to be excited about.

The bug-fix list is truly impressive, even though not everything has been done. I share the sentiments of many here, that stability must take precedence over new features. I know for sure that -9173 is still very much with us, but nothing has been said about that, and about more efficient and economical CPU utilization. Maybe the two things are related, I don't know. What's the situation in regards to that?

All good here. I spent the morning doing a full wipe and re-install. In 12.7 I had a few bugs that fell into the miscellaneous category but those seem to be gone.

I never used midi in PT previously but I pulled up Kontakt and did some freezing and offline bouncing after seeing the topic here. No issues with that either.

You think I'm being over reactive over a minor issue? If you paid for HD software for the last two years and haven't been able to use anything pass 12.4 because it doesn't work at all you wouldn't think this was a minor issue.

I'm talking about PT choking on running zero plugins, and just one stereo file. Not just one computer, but three completely different computers. Doesn't matter if it's a fresh install of the OS or Pro tools or all plugins removed or not installed at all. Uninstalled Cloud Collab, recommended OS tweaks by Avid, bios tweaks, brand new computer, old-gen computer, nothing matters it just doesn't work. I'm not paying another year for something I can't use.

I will download and try 12.8 tonight and tomorrow. If it works I'll cough up the money. If not, I'm done.
