I wish there was a way to have a relative counter
I'm not looking for workarounds or change Session Start Time.
I just wish there was a way to set the counter to a relative zero. Ex: Drop the playhead at any point in the session and you are at 00:00:00:00 regardless of the Session Online Time. The counter rolls from :00 relative to where the play head begins rolling. If I have missed this and you can do it with 7.2 or higher, have mercy and let me know. Sorry if I have missed this all these years. Thanks Rob |

Re: I wish there was a way to have a relative counter
Rob - I've wanted that feature for a long time, but was afraid I was the only one.
Does anyone know if this is a current feature?

I believe "Local Zero" is on the official wish list... I requested it when the Song Position Marker was added.

Re: I wish there was a way to have a relative coun
This is one of those little things in Logic that I always wished ProTools had... in the "Synchronization" window--
Bar "_" plays at SMPTE time "_._._._". The time obviously defaulting to zero. If you have a video with a two-beep out front before the start of picture, you can set bar 4 or 5 to be zero, then your SMPTE time in the sequence matches the time in the picture. If you really want it in ProTools, you can work around having the session start seconds shy of the hour, and use 1 hour as zero, but it takes a lot of fiddling everytime you want to try a different tempo when you're laying it out.

It is amazing that simple things that you could find on any tape machine from the stone age hasn't been incorporated in such an infinetly flexable system..

Ha! That's me, but I still dream of one day becoming a Local Hero Good call though. I can think of a number of occasions when this would have been a blessing. |
