Eucon 3.61 'installation failed'... Again
Actually, the past three versions of EuCon have shown this message at the end of the installation process. Everything seems to work but, no matter what I do to install Eucon, it says 'installation failed' at the end.
The other thing is that it always reminds me to update my controller firmware whenever I start it up even if I check the 'don't show this message again' box. I only mention that in case it's related. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a fix? I have run the clean uninstall script and restarted the computer before installing. Nothing I've tried works to get rid of the 'installation failed' message at the end. A permissions problem perhaps?

Re: Eucon 3.61 'installation failed'... Again
Upon further investigation, functionality isn't all there. There are no soft key assignments on the screen or the surface. Bummer.

Re: Eucon 3.61 'installation failed'... Again
After some research, I figured out how to get the soft keys back from an old file so at least the functionality is there. It still asks where the artist controllers are connected every time I start it up and tells me to update the firmware even though I've checked that box to not appear again many times.
If anyone can shed any light on this, I'm all ears. I've started a ticket with Avid.

I think this is where that check box gets remembered, if you uninstall and this file is still there...delete it and see if that helps. it may have got corrupted.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately it made no difference. The installer always says 'installation failed'. When I tried your suggestion, i deleted the file you referenced and restarted the computer. Then I started EuControl. It asked me where the controllers were connected and told me to update the firmware - every time I opened the app. The only time it ever suggested that I update the firmware before was when I installed a new version of EuControl. It never ever asked me where the controllers were connected until 3.61. As I mentioned, this has been a problem for the last 3 version for me. I updated my system software to 10.12.5 tonight but that didn't make any difference either.

Re: Eucon 3.61 'installation failed'... Again
I'll ask around in the office and see if any software engineer knows what to look for next. I presume the firmware is up to date ?

Everything is the latest: Pro Tools 12.8 EuControl 3.61 Mac OS 10.12.5 Artist Control 1.3.7.0 Artist Mix 1.5.4.0 I've tried using the clean uninstall script for EuControl, uninstalling and reinstalling Pro Tools and EuControl multiple times in multiple ways. Read for hours on the internet... I've been working this problem for quite a while. Addition: I did get it to stop asking me to check the firmware version. YAY! It still asks me what ethernet port it is connected to every time I start it up though. That's new. I'm going to do some network research...

Re: Eucon 3.61 'installation failed'... Again
The firmware dialog gives up after 11 restarts of EuControl so that was probably why its now gone. The Network dialog popping up is again pointing to a permissions issue. EuControl can't save its preferences out. I am waiting for a reply from an engineer and will post back later.....

Here's another pref file to delete after uninstalling. /Library/Application Support/Avid/EUCON/com.avid.eucon.plist

Re: Eucon 3.61 'installation failed'... Again ***SOLVED***
Hey Eddie,
Thanks for having in there with me on this. You're a good guy. Everything advised was not working for me so I went ahead and re-installed Sierra. After that the installer worked perfectly, so the problem is solved. It probably was a permissions thing, but none of the utilities I used were able to successfully repair them. By the way, 3.61 still has the soft key color bug I mentioned earlier.
