Default PT M-powered 8 Creative collection installation issue

Hi all!

Major issue for me which is actually meaning I am having to cancel jobs!

Please help.....

My PC died, after a few years of running PT Mpowered 7/8 no problem.

I buy a new machine (quad core 3.6ghz AMD/ 8GHZ RAM/ Delta 1010lt), but Pro Tools won't seem to install the 'Creative collection' of plugins.

I already have sessions which need to be re-visited that have these plugins on!

I've tried updating to 8.05, as well as installing 8.0, then doing upgrade as suggested on here but have had same problem throughout the board (I've downloaded the massive PT installation file 4 times now!)

Why can't you download the plugins from the site?

This is the greatest software ever, when it occasionally works. I'm so frustrated at the minute. Please help.....

Got this sorted, had to borrow an installation disc from a friend.

After trying to download the installation file over 10 times, (over an hour each time) I have been told the site and download files are full of bugs since the move to Avid.

Thanks alot Avid for absolutely the worst customer service ever........

I don't remember hte last time I saw an Avid rep post in the M-Powered/LE section of the DUC. I've taken to posting non-version-specific questions in the PT9 forum where there's a chance someone sees them; we're second-class citizens and they have no problem letting us know that.

I've got exactly the same problem but with PT9 on a Windows Seven.

For the moment I've circumvented the problem by re-installing Windows XP (!) and it works....

Nearly the same problem, and maybe a poor little solution...
