Default Identifying beat problem...

This has been bugging me since I started using Pro Tools. I watch the Disk flix ''Identify beat'' but, when I try to use the up and down arrow keys to find the start and finish, I try and stop it, and the shadowed selection dissapears, no matter what. Anyone know what im doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

LP, I don't have a solid answer for you but, I had this same problem. It was very frustrating. There is a setting somewhere in the operations menu and for the life of me I can't remember which one it is. Once it is set, then it works. It might be the "Time line follows insertion point" setting. Try that and see. Sorry I don't know the exact option, but it is there somewhere. Jason

Got it, thanks man. I went to Settings > Operation > Time Line selection. It was checked, I unchecked it and it worked. Once again thanks alot.

Cool, I'm glad it worked.
