Capt Kirk: Thanks for sharing your experience. Yes, the stereo/mono mismatch issue has also bitten me in Pro Tools. in Audition, audio of either stereo or mono nature may be placed on any track. (But that's another subject!) Thank you again.

Pro Tools works with Left and Right mono files in a stereo track, which at times can be frustrating and confusing, especially when you drag a stereo Clip from the Clip List and it winds up on two adjacent mono tracks. However, that can also be a good thing, since you can split stereo to mono, treat each track with a different affect, and then drag them back to a stereo track.

yea, i actually find that really uesful, being able to adjust volume etc on one side and then instantly back to stereo

I am, in fact, that very same person! Thank you for considering the idea worthy. I'd like to think that experience on various editing systems can give us insight on how to possibly improve them.

These past few months with Pro Tools have presented their challenges, but I do enjoy the learning!

Voted. Great idea! Unfortunately Avid are abandoning ideascale in favor of the new Avid Link app. And they are only porting over the "most popular" ideas. So anything that may be really useful and a great idea, but only have so many votes, will not get ported and will need to be re-posted.
