Default bfd ultra, no overhead mics??

i have a pretty large midi drum session i have been working on. just purchased bfd and getting a swing of it. i was previously using reason drumkits refill. pretty easy to switch everything over and got it rocking, but the problem i am encountering is...

i am using bfd ultra, inserted on a stereo instrument track that contains most of the midi data. all the outputs are going to aux's and going into the track input. on a stero aux i can get the pzm and the room mics, but no overhead. have tried everything i can think of, not sure what to do does it have something to do with the 32 track bus?? any workarounds??? thanks!

as i was typing this i had a wild thought. just ran to my computer and tried it and sure enough. i created and stereo aux and moved bfd over to it, turned it up and sure enough, i guess some default thing, but weird how you cannot choose oh's, it is automatic through the bfd output, but wish i would have thought about this 3 days ago, been racking my brain but to no avail.....

It's in the manual I believe - the track with BFD inserted is the OH's.

hello, yeah i was reading the heck out of the manual and not sure if it stated it quite that blunt. maybe it did and i am a bit slow....

and if i may ask you a question: i am debating between the steve albini deluxe bfd expansion and the andy johns which i think you were a part of. i am at the moment looking for something more rock metal oriented and not sure which, they both seem to sound great from what i have heard, but just not sure. a lot of the kits seem in the vintage vein on the andy johns expansion, but that of course dont mean much. curious with you being part of it, and maybe having used it, your thoughts towards that style of music. thanX!!

I would obviously recommend the Andy Johns pack - since I produced it...

For independent reviews and opinions create a new thread here or ask over at the www.fxpansion.com forum.

The first time I loaded Kit 3# and dropped it into a previous mix, my eyes watered. The detail in the kicks is unbelievable. How is the next series coming?

Thanks

The Joe Barresi pack is coming along great - unless we run into manufacturing problems it should be available next month.

Cheers,

Rail
