mine expires too in a few days, don't think that even for 100 is worth it.

bought DP a few months back and man what a difference, DP flies compared to pro tools, still I'm getting the hand of it but man that is a reliable software and not pro tools...

Ableton Live, Native Instruments Maschine, Akai MPC, Reaper, Studio One, Digital Performer, to name a few, all use AU and VST. Maybe more as well.

Not AU (not being on Mac, I'm not familiar with that platform), but there are a number of DAWs that run multiple plugin platforms. On PC many run both VST and the old DirectX platform. Reaper, Samplitude, Vegas off the top of my head. I'm sure there are more, those are just the ones I've used in the last few days.

I renewed my HD license in December however this is likely the last time I will do that. Unless something very unusual changes with Avid it's just not worth it to me any more.

There are many viable alternatives nowadays. Reaper is a 10MB download, never crashes and absolutely screams on my machine.

My support plan is up this Friday too and after much thought, I won't be renewing it. I had really hoped that last years fees would have been used to fix long standing bugs and create general stability for PT, but instead Avid used my money to develop cloud collaboration and other features that I'll never use while simultaneously breaking things that worked before. I just purchased another 5.1 Mac Pro 6 core machine as a backup and I plan on staying put with my current rig for many, many years.

It seems like both Apple and Avid have really gone out of their way to make sure that they never see any more of my money...odd.

Mine isn't up until the fall, but I'm about to roll back to 12.4, so I won't be upgrading again until I hear of some major improvements to the things I need the most - solid ADC, better midi, and better elastic audio.

I couldn't care less about cloud services or VR integration. (but that's just me)

Needless to say, I don't expect to feel the need to update for quite a while.

They should be in the Avid Uninstallers folder.
