Default Re: Most stable simple interface under Windows 10

Thanks VRW for this very clever proposal.

Indeed a Babyface Pro + Focusrite Clarett Octopre would offer maximum flexibility (portability of the babyface for use at home, and Clarette + Focusrite when recording drums in the studio) for the same price tag of the 802. And when recording drums that requires phantom power for the 4 mics for the cymbals, I guess it is more convenient to have 8 pre-amps for the gain and the Vu-meter.

In the meantime I found a 2nd-hand 802 for 900 USD.

I guess I will think over it this week-end and buy:
- 1: either the 2nd-hand 802
- 2: or buy the Babyface pro (and buy the Clarett later on as I don't need to rec more than 2 tracks until 2017)

I just realized that the 802 doesn't have XLR outputs to connect the monitoring speakers to it.
I guess that 2 of the jack TRS outputs can be connected to monitoring speakers and assigned as Main Outputs of ProTools.

RME have outstanding legacy support. They still support the original Fireface interface for all modern operating systems and indeed upgraded the original TotalMix to include features from the latest version.
