Default oxygen 8

When using an Oxygen 8 with Protools 6.9LE in a windows xp environment do you need to connect a Midi to USB interface cable for it to work right or can you just use the USB cable supplied with the purchase of the Oxygen 8??

Thanks!

Use the USB cable that came with it.

I'm using Sampletank 2 with Pro Tools 6.9. In the midi track it doesn't give me the option for the Oxygen and I know I installed the oxygen keyboard correctly?? I don't know why this is so confusing for me....but thanks for all of your help...

If installed properly, the Oxygen should show up in the MIDI track's input and output pulldown menus as "USB Keystation".

If not, it is not installed properly, or not working properly, and contacting M-Audio for support would be your next step.

FWIW, the M-Audio USB connectors have been known to be very sensitive and fragile. I fried a Radium49 at my last job with a jolt of static electricity and had to use it via the MIDI connectors because they wouldn't let me get it fixed. Fellow DUC user IntelDOC has had problems with his Oxygen connected via USB as well.
