Default Artist mix not working in Hui or Mackie

I just purchased an artist mix and I can't get it to work in HUI mode or Mackie Control mode. I am trying HUI mode for Pro Tools 8 and Mackie Control mode for Ableton live 8.2.5. I am on OSX Lion 10.7.4 and on eucontrol version 2.6.2. I dragged ableton into the Eucon preference pane, selected mackie control, and restarted and I also did the same thing for HUI mode in pro tools, still no luck. The only way so far I have gotten the artist mix to work is by installing eucon 2.5.7 on a snow leopard machine and doing the same steps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems to have been a permissions issue on my library. I changed everyone to read and write and that seemed to fix most of the issues. I was able to get the mix and some of the transport to work in ableton live, but not the jog wheel. Does anybody know why my jog wheel wouldn't be working in ableton live?

As far as the Artist Control and Protools, it doesnt work with Protools 8. You need Protools 9 or 10

I'm having somewhat of the same problem. Did you change the whole library folder to "Read & Write"?

Hi, I also have problems to use MC Mix in HUI or MackieControl mode.
When I drag the app (f.e Max6) in the EUCON Preferences, after restarting it is empty !
The Mix worked in ProTools 10.
Any hints ?

For those folks who are having problems, give this a shot and hopefully it fixes your issue:

READ/PRINT This entire process...as there is is REBOOT in the process.

1. Go to your main hard drive /Library/Preferences" folder...NOT your user library folder.

2. Do a "get info" on the folder (Command I or Right Click and Get Info)

3. Change the "everyone" permission to r+w and apply to permissions to all subfolders.

4a. Open the AUDIO MIDI SETUP app (in your Apps/Utilities folder). If the EUPHONIX (or AVID) MIDI device is not greyed out, go to step 6.

4b. If it is greyed out, select it and hit DELETE. Then do a reboot.

5. After rebooting, verify in the AUDIO MIDI SETUP app that the EUPHONIX MIDI device is no longer greyed out.

6. Open your Euphonix/Avid Control pannel and add the application. Do the reboot and the software should show up.

If you have questions, feel free to email me and I'll glady walk you through the process:

@ avezeau
Thanks a lot. Now i got it to work. First I struggeled with a locked Info-window.
After unlocking the lock in the right corner I was able to change the rights for everyone to w+r (Folder: .../Library/Preferences)

@avezeau

thanks - I am using PT10 and wanting to use an Artist Mix and a Control in HUI mode. I have done all you suggested but both Avid surfaces sit idle. PT10 does not complain that it "can't communicate" with the HUI surface so it is thinking it has communication from it's end - any further ideas?
