Default Re: Pro Tools 2018 use with 192 I/O [solved]

Just in case those curious are not giving us 100% of info we need, here is a list of what you NEED to run Pro Tools 2018 with a 192:
1-Pro Tools HD or Ultimate software(and iLok license)
2-a Digilink license
3-a compatible OS(find this thru the link above called Learn & Support)
4-a compatible card in the computer(HD/Native or HDX) or an HD/Native Thunderbolt box(of course, the computer needs a thunderbolt connection with the proper adapter cables).
5-digilink cable AND mini-Digilink adapter(to connect the 192 to the card/TB interface)
Without ALL of these, you don't have a complete system

For those who got lost in the previous list; the DigiLink itself is unchanged, but the new Avid-branded gear use smaller connector. Good news is that it is electrically compatible to the old one. Bad news is you need adapter(s).

Another good news is that the new cards (HDN and HDX) have two new small DigiLink connectors, which means 64 i/o per card instead of 32 i/o of the HD cards that have one old big DigiLink connector.

Another bad news is starting with PT 12.6 you need a DigiLink i/o license to get that stuff seen by PT. DigiLink license is included with Avid HD interface purchase, so buying one new box gives you this license (worth 299usd if i remember correctly).

Hope this clarifies things.
