Can't cancel bounce

Ok, with PT9.0 this worked fine by disabling desktop composition, but now with 9.02 this is a problem again. Is anyone here seeing the same thing?

What's weird for me is that it is kind of random. Some times I can't, sometimes I can. Seems related to the countdown timer. When it countdown I can and when it's sits at the start time the entire time I can't. I need to spend some time narrowing in on this.

For me it's related to Aero - if you disable it and the Windows Desktop Manager service you should be able to cancel bounces. Of course, this means going to a Windows 7 Basic theme which kinda sucks. Personally, I've started bouncing to a track then exporting the finished mix once it's consolidated. That way too you can stop and restart the bounce where you need to make a change without having to bounce the whole song again from the beginning.

I've done that and it still doesn't let me cancel. I'm considering going back to 9.0 if the next update doesn't fix it.

How are you going about disabling "desktop composition"? I've never heard of that.

Right click on the PT icon that is on your desktop or from the start menu.

Click properties. Click the Compatibility Tab. Check the box Under Settings "Disable desktop composition".

And while you are there make sure under Privilege Level that "Run this program as an administrator" is checked.

By doing this you will disable desktop composition only when PT is running.

Same behavior here. Haven't tried disabling Aero, but I like Aero and don't really want to disable it.

Aero is much more than desktop composition. That's only one element of it. It also includes all the peek/shake/snap/jumplist stuff. It's a real shame that we have to gut our fancy new 64-bit OS's most helpful features to make it compatible with PT. PT is a demanding task master.
