Why do my recorded bounces not start on the bar
Why do my bounces not start on the bar.
I have a dual core MAC Mini Intel with 2 gigs of RAM Do I have to bypass my plugs, sort of defeats the purpose, if I want to bounce tracks with plugs. |

Re: Why do my bounces not start on the bar
You aren't being very clear. What do you mean by start on the bar? You can highlight the section you want to bounce and ProTools will bounce just that selection.

Re: Why do my bounces not start on the bar
I mean that after I have recorded a bounce say a 4 bar drum loop, when I place it in a track the start of the bounce does not start right on the bar line where it should. so it will be out of time.
I have tried reducing buffers etc but with no luck. I put it down to the plug ins I have activated. Thanks for responding |

Re: Why do my bounces not start on the bar
I think I know what you are saying. I'm assuming that you are triggering a virtual sampler drum machine. If you programmed the 4 bar drum loop, it takes time for the midi info to trigger the plug and access the sample off of the drive. Plus, the instrument plug in might be adding delay and ProTools LE does not have automatic delay compensation.
You can trim the bounce and then place it at the beggining of the bar.

Thanks for taking an interest grindx
To put it more simply, say you bounce the whole session. There is going to be a delay at the start. Brian |

Re: Why do my bounces not start on the bar
Yes. Many plug ins, including virtual instruments cause delay. The number of samples can vary. The amount of plugs you use and the sample rate will determine the actual delay. There is away around this, but it's not a great solution. If you hold the apple key down and click on what normally shows a numeric volume level in the channel strip for a track, you can toggle to dly. This shows you how many samples the track has been delayed. Now you can nudge the entire track that number of samples to the left (earlier) to compensate.
