Default 002 not Vista Compatible RUMOUR

Any truth to the 002s not being compatible with Pro Tools Vista when it's released??? I would really really and mean really think all of us 002 users will be able to use Windows Vista and Pro Tools perfectly.

I ask based on 3JDamon's quote in another thread:

"Every 002 and 002R just depreciated by ~35% because they will not be useable with Vista. That's well short of something for nothing, it's less than nothing for something. 002's are still being sold when they are deliberately and needlessly incompatible with the now-current OS, Vista. That's bordering on fraud."

3JDamon...Don't scare us like that...Digi isn't that cruel to say to us all "If you want to use Pro Tools on Vista you will have to switch to one of the following families:
Digi 003 Family, Mbox 2 Family or Pro Tools M-Powered Family....The Digi 002 Family will not work with Vista"

Any truth to this or just speculation???

Now how stupid would that be. The next thing you expect is Digi redsigning the skin of the OO2 and calling it the OO3.

...ummm....Oops.

Anywaysssssssssssssssssssssss, now why would they not let Vista work with their own products. I'm not privy to this, but is the Digi OO1 only working with Win 98 the previous OS?

Poor digi customers still working in 98 just to get their OO1 to work.

Come on folks...common sense. I know the OO3 is a letdown from some folks, but you still have the OO3 Pro too look forward too, which might carry SOME of the options you really wanted.

001 works just fine and dandy under xp. Only reason it was killed was because 5V PCI slots are becoming hard to find, and no longer exist a all on the macs. Digi has a policy of even support, so Bwuh bwye 001, hello 002 and it's new evil twin the 003.

I would be stunned if the 002 wasn't supported for a substantial amount of time. With no cards to muck about with it's pretty easy to continue to support.

Digi is in it for the money for sure, but alienating a substantial portion of your user base to that extent would be commercial suicide. They's never trust you again.

Oh wait, how much for a PCI-e version of the HD cards with the same capabilities as the one I have?! I'm not going to drag up other ancient history at this point, but given the track record I can see people being suspicious...
