Re: Eleven Rack Midi Help
Lets guess, you have not looked in the documentation at all about this right?
Hammer to head or documentation, either will work. But reading the documentation is usually less painful... What cable you using? TRS balanced not TS instrument? (An M-Audio pedal with a built-in cable will be fine). Mode set to pedal not switch (in user settings:external pedals)? Pedal type set correctly (in user settings:external pedals)? Pedal calibrated (in user settings:external pedals)? The effect you are trying to use is actually enabled? (in rig chain) The pedal function is set to that effect? (at end of rig chain on front panel) The Eleven Rack plugged in? Turned on? If that does not work try the hammer. M-Audio expression pedals are pretty junky. Lots of better choices. |

Eleven Rack Midi Help
You asked about an expression pedal, now you are asking about a footswitch. They are different beasts, what exactly at a high level are you trying to do (e.g. "I want the wah effect thingy in the Eleven Rack to make wah wah sounds when I move my foot up and down on the M-Audio expression pedal thingy"). Exactly what footswitch or expression pedal do you have connected? And have you really actually looked in the user guide? (The shock may be too much, I may need to lay down...). What are you trying to do that does not work as the instructions imply? Manual version and page number will help.

Re: Eleven Rack Midi Help
it is an M-Audio pedal right? What exact model? This one? http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/EXP.html Since they also make sustain pedals etc.
it has a built in cable with 1/4" TRS plug on the end right? If you have a different pedal with a detachable cable you must use a 1/4" TRS balanced cable not 1/4" TS instument cable. Is it know if the pedal and cable work OK with anything else? Your keyboard? You have this plugged into the 1/4" jack expression pedal jack on the rear panel of the Eleven Rack right? Got a multimeter? Confirm the the expression pedal acts as a three lead potentiometer (should be about a 10k range potentiometer). |

Re: Eleven Rack Midi Help
It's been a while since I had an Eleven Rack, but I did use it with that exact same expression pedal.
There was something I had to set in the unit that was opposite of how it was set by default. I still don't understand it even though someone from Avid tried to explain it. If you go into the Expression Pedal option either on the unit itself, or in the GUI window, you should be able to figure it out. It's been so long I don't remember what I did. |
