Default simultaneous inputs?

hey all,
I can get a stereo guitar to record wet onto a track. Now I want to (at the same time) record a speaking vocal via the mic input on the front to a different track. I can do this no problem thru my 002 Rack by connecting the Eleven rack Via s/pdif.
just wondering if I can skip the 002 or will the mic'd signal also have the patch values...?
Thanks,
Jeff

Yep, and this is trivial to do. And the Eleven Rack documentation should make all this clear and is the best starting point (its is actually very well written and useful).

Any one of the inputs (guitar in, line in, Mic in, digital in, or the special internal "reamp".. which is really an output) can be used as input to the virtual rig processing. Guitar in, line in, Mic in and digital-in are also all available as inputs in Pro Tools, regardless of which one is used to drive the virtual rig inside the Eleven Rack.

Your IO when using an Eleven Rack should be showing a mono mic input, a mono dry guitar input, and a stereo guitar out, etc.. If not default the input settings in Setup>IO. I suspect you just have the 003 IO defaults and so not seeing what you want to on the Eleven Rack. All this should be stupidly easy once you do that, but if its not workign explain exactly what you are doing, ideally provide screen shots of track input settings and setup>IO>Input etc. And provide all the useful info asked for, see "Help us Help You - READ THIS Before Posting!".

Thanks Darryl,
I can see the inputs in the IO but other than the guitar input they are greyed out. Now that I know this should work I'll dig deeper.
Thanks for confirming for me!

"... ideally provide screen shots of track input settings and setup>IO>Input etc."

Those screen shots will also help if you are still stuck.
