Default Switching from LE to M-Powered

So I've decided to upgrade from an Mbox2 to a Mackie Onyx 1220i with M-Powered. Should be arriving in the post tomorrow, so I just wanted to know if there was anything I need to think about before I go ahead and uninstall LE and replace it with M-Powered?

I'm sure some people have made this switch in the past and any ideas of problems or things i might need to think about would be very useful.

thanks in advance

I'm running Windows XP, btw.

Just two things. First, you don't need to uninstall LE. You can have both installed and just run the one with the associated hardware plugged in at the time. Once everything is running, if you want you can uninstall LE if for instance you are selling the hardware to someone else.

Second, if you have Windows 7 (either 32 or 64 bit), when you do the M-Powered install and the install routine asks you to plug in the M-Audio hardware, don't do it. Just click OK and go through the whole instruction without plugging in the actual hardware. If you look through this forum, there are a whole lot of complaints from people that can't make Pro Tools run on Windows 7. Most of them could be avoided if people would just go through the install first and plug in the hardware later. Really, the installation routines should be modified so that they work better on Windows 7.

Don't take my word for the Makie, but with my Profire 2626 I had no issues with installing PTMP by following the directions given.. I think this is in relation to the Digi hardware.
