Bootcamp with Mbox is a nightmare!
Hello All,
Running: MacBook 2gb Mbox 2 OSX 10.4.11 XP SP2 Has anyone ever managed to run an mbox in windows via bootcamp beta? I cannot manage it! It is driving me mad! I need to run my audio software in windows due to I have purchased certain windows specific software. As I have now bought a mac I'm dual booting and using windows for audio production. The mbox is regularly rejected and I always get the blue screen of death after a while. My main concern is in control panel - sounds - general tab - it always says 'no audio device' yet in various other drop downs within this window the mbox 2 is selected... still is not stable!! I have chased this up with so many people but still no answers! Please help Peter |

Re: Bootcamp with Mbox is a nightmare!
For one, dude it's not recommended and supported to run Pro Tools on XP with BootCamp. 2nd.... why the hell would you want to do that in the first place??
Use your Mac!! That's what it's there for!!!!

Re: Bootcamp with Mbox is a nightmare!
Thank you both for your... contructive answers.
As I put in my post i have previously bought lots of software that is not supported by mac. therefore to run a purely mac system I would need to re-buy this software and I don't have a spare 3 grand lying around! Still, if anyone has had any sucess I would love to hear. Thanks Peter |

Re: Bootcamp with Mbox is a nightmare!
i've had no issues (other than poorly coded digi drivers) running my Mbox 2 Pro in both Windows XP and Vista
try uninstalling pro tools entirely, then reinstalling |

Re: Bootcamp with Mbox is a nightmare!
When you say it's 'rejected' - can you be more specific?
Also, can you generate and post a plug-ins list - old or unauthorized plug-ins can cause issues like this. You can use the Tech Support Folder to obtain a utility that will generate the installed plug-in version list. Just copy and paste the text in your reply. |

Re: Bootcamp with Mbox is a nightmare!
the main thing is to disable your wireless card. you don't have to uninstall the driver... simply disable the card before you launch pro tools. worked for me.
