Switching from LE to M-Powered
Hello, I am a current DIGI 001/PTLE 6.1 user and I'm thinking about finally upgrading my setup to an M-Powered setup. I really like the new features that version 7 offers. I have a few questions for those of you who have been using M-powered for a while. 1- Does it support HUI as a control surface? I currently use a BCF2000 and it works flawlessy with PTLE 6.1 as a HUI device. If it will not work with M-Powered I guess I will try to sell it with my 001 and get a Project I/O or similiar. 2- The main interface I was thinking of going with is the FW 1814 as it is the closest in I/O capibilities to my 001 but I seem to reading that many people have issues with it on this forum. I am running on an Asus Mobo/Athlon 64 3000+ combo system that I built based on specs from the best PCs for Pro Tools thread in the LE forum. It runs flawlessly with the 001 and I get a very high plug-in/track count with it. I installed an Adaptec 4300 firewire card in it for my video work (I use Premiere Pro) and it interfaces well with my Canon DV camcorder. Do any of you see potential problems running this interface? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Short answer; I don't see a problem. (That doesn't mean you won't have one, and is definitely not a guarantee).

Re: Switching from LE to M-Powered
Maybe this is of interest to you. Protools 7.1 allows co-installation of of LE and M-Powered as long as you have the same version of both.
