Re: 12.5 Meters Are Still Sluggish
It's seem to be something Apple has changed as they updated there OS's. The Meter and Transport slowdown began showing up In Yosemite for me when I had a lot of plugins open, and has gotten aggressively worse with EI Capitan. I agree I don't think it's the graphic cards. I talked to Avid support and they had no clue on how to fix it.

Re: 12.5 Meters Are Still Sluggish
seems the lag is also in the playback engine ... at 128 samples I can't run anything smoothly ... Logic is now way ahead !

Re: 12.5 Meters Are Still Sluggish
I mostly don't use NI and mostly don't have performance problems. What can you say about that? :)

(edited) I must be more specific. I have NI Ultimate everything runs fine at a 64 buffer in Pro Tools except Kontakt. The more you load it up the worst it gets. Mostly instruments that use large samples and your are right Other apps do a better job at low latency. Last edited by zion; 04-05-2016 at 07:06 AM. Reason: Clarification |

Re: 12.5 Meters Are Still Sluggish
Is it better to do a clean install? I didn't realize that there is a difference.

Re: 12.5 Meters Are Still Sluggish
agreed. Can't use 64 buffer on my PCIe RME RayDAT card. Yet any other plugin or sampler outside of pro tools works on 32 (including kontakt) no problems at all. I can get away with 64 for tracking audio. But any VI, it's game over. Especially Kontakt, which I use more than any other!
