MasterList CD v2.3 Pre-Announcement

Digidesign plans to release a new version of MasterList CD by the end of September 2000. MasterList CD v2.3 is expected to support the latest SCSI-based CD recorders from Yamaha, CRW8424SZ, and Plextor, PlexWriter 12/4/32.* Support for the 12x write speed feature of the Plextor PlexWriter 12/4/32 will be implemented, enabling users to record an entire CD-R in just over 6 minutes.

MasterList CD v2.3 will not include changes to the application user interface or support for USB or Firewire CD recorders. These features will be part of a future release.

The new version is the answer to MasterList CD v2.2 users who have been asking for the removal of the 74-minute record limit. The new version will allow CD recording on 80-minute CD-R media as well.

MasterList CD v2.3 will be available as a free download from the Digidesign website to all users of MasterList CD v2.1 or higher. Watch for further announcements regarding MasterList CD v2.3 next month.


*In order for these CD recorders to be qualified with the new MasterList v2.3 they must first pass Digidesign’s rigorous tests for professional disc creation.
