Very long launch time + continuous crashes
Hello community.
Total noob here PTF installed okay after solving the 'AAE error -6117' issue. Procedure for system startup: -connect audio interface Behringer UMC404HD -turn the notebook on -launch PTF. 1st issue: is a3m15 s launch time normal? 2nd issue: after the second or third key pressed in PTF for whatever reason (e.g., create a project then hit any part of the Arrange window), PTF crashes. No other software open, no other device inserted except the UMC404HD. I have followed all the optimization steps. --Carlo ------------- Lenovo Thinkpad W530 notebook Windows 7 Pro 64 bit RAM: 8 GB ___________ SiSoftware Sandra ID Host Name : carlo-lenovo Workgroup : WORKGROUP Computer Model : Lenovo 24474KG ThinkPad W530 Serial Number : PK0BF3A Chassis : Lenovo Notebook Mainboard : Lenovo 24474KG Serial Number : 1ZSF537P29X BIOS : Lenovo G5ETA5WW (2.65 ) 03/04/2016 TPM - Trusted Platform Module : 1.02, STM Total Memory : 7.66GB DDR3 SO-DIMM Processors Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz (4C 8T 2GHz/3.4GHz, 2GHz IMC, 4x 256kB L2, 6MB L3) Socket/Slot : FC PGA988 (G2) Chipset Memory Controller : Lenovo Core (Ivy Bridge) Mobile DRAM Controller 100MHz, 2x 4GB DDR3 SO-DIMM 1.6GHz 128-bit Memory Module(s) Memory Module : Samsung M471B5173BH0-CK0 4GB DDR3 SO-DIMM PC3-12800SO DDR3-1600 (11-11-11-29 5-40-13-6) Memory Module : Samsung M471B5173BH0-CK0 4GB DDR3 SO-DIMM PC3-12800SO DDR3-1600 (11-11-11-29 5-40-13-6) Video System Monitor/Panel : Lenovo LCD 1600x900 (1600x900, B156RW01 V1 , 15.3") Video Adapter : NVIDIA Quadro K1000M (1CU 192SP SM5.0 850MHz, 256kB L2, 2GB 1.8GHz 128-bit, PCIe 2.00 x16) Graphics Processor CUDA GP Processor : NVIDIA Quadro K1000M (192SP 1C 850MHz, 256kB L2, 2GB 1.8GHz 128-bit) OpenCL GP Processor : NVIDIA Quadro K1000M (192SP 1C 850MHz, 16kB L2, 2GB 1.8GHz 128-bit) Compute Shader Processor : NVIDIA Quadro K1000M (192SP 1C 850MHz, 256kB L2, 2GB 1.8GHz 128-bit) OpenGL Processor : Quadro K1000M/PCIe/SSE2 (2GB) Storage Devices HGST HTS725050A7E630 (500.1GB, SATA600, 2.5", 7200rpm, 32MB Cache) : 466GB (C:) (Q:) HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT80N (SATA150, DVD+-RW, CD-RW, 768kB Cache) : N/A (E:) ELBY CLONEDRIVE (SCSI, SCSI-2, BD-R, HD-DVD-R, DVD-R, CD-R, 256kB Cache) : N/A (D:) ELBY CLONEDRIVE (SCSI, SCSI-2, BD-R, HD-DVD-R, DVD-R, CD-R, 256kB Cache) : N/A (F:) Logical Storage Devices SYSTEM_DRV : 1GB (NTFS, 4kB) @ HGST HTS725050A7E630 (500.1GB, SATA600, 2.5", 7200rpm, 32MB Cache) Windows7_OS (C:) : 447GB (NTFS, 4kB) @ HGST HTS725050A7E630 (500.1GB, SATA600, 2.5", 7200rpm, 32MB Cache) Lenovo_Recovery (Q:) : 18GB (NTFS, 4kB) @ HGST HTS725050A7E630 (500.1GB, SATA600, 2.5", 7200rpm, 32MB Cache) Optical Drive (E:) : N/A @ HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT80N (SATA150, DVD+-RW, CD-RW, 768kB Cache) Optical Drive (D:) : N/A @ ELBY CLONEDRIVE (SCSI, SCSI-2, BD-R, HD-DVD-R, DVD-R, CD-R, 256kB Cache) Optical Drive (F:) : N/A @ ELBY CLONEDRIVE (SCSI, SCSI-2, BD-R, HD-DVD-R, DVD-R, CD-R, 256kB Cache) Peripherals LPC Hub Controller 1 : Lenovo Panther Point LPC Controller Audio Device : Lenovo Panther Point High Definition Audio Controller Audio Codec : Realtek Semi High Definition Audio Audio Device : Lenovo GK107 HDMI Audio Controller Audio Codec : nVidia GeForce 6800 LE [NV40.2] Disk Controller : Lenovo Panther Point Mobile 6 port SATA AHCI Controller USB Controller 1 : Lenovo Panther Point USB xHCI Host Controller USB Controller 2 : Lenovo Panther Point USB Enhanced Host Controller #2 USB Controller 3 : Lenovo Panther Point USB Enhanced Host Controller #1 SMBus/i2c Controller 1 : Intel ICH SMBus Printers and Faxes Printer : HP LaserJet 500 color MFP M575 PCL 6 (600x600) Printer : HP LaserJet 4200/4300 PCL6 (600x600, Colour) Fax : Microsoft Shared Fax Driver (200x200) Printer : Canon MG5600 series Printer (Colour) Printer : Adobe PDF Converter (4000x4000, Colour) Network Services Network Adapter : Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection (Ethernet) Network Adapter : Dispositivo Bluetooth (Personal Area Network) (Ethernet) Wireless Adapter : Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN (802.11n (HT), AES-CCMP, 144Mbps) Power Management Battery No 1 : LGC 45N1011 93.60Wh/8.38Ah Operating System Windows System : Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 6.01.7601 (Service Pack 1) Platform Compliance : x64 Last edited by slidincharlie; 03-04-2017 at 10:39 AM. |

Re: Very long launch time + continuous crashes
Don't worry you're not alone. This software sucks. Period.
You're better off not wasting your time and just using something else until AVID decides they want to back up their product. |

Re: Very long launch time + continuous crashes
Charlie, the fact that you're running Windows 7 with only 8 GB of memory could be a large part of your problem, but try running PT with the Behringer turned off. Don't worry about the error message you'll get as long as you don't try saving the session, you should be fine.
