Midi files for PC?
I have a 001, a midi controller keyboard and a 733Mhz/256ram/PIII PC. I can get the 001 to record the data from the controller, and I can select differnt channels, but I lack sounds. (i.e. general midi files) Where/How do I get basic midi patches? thank you

Re: Midi files for PC?
If you have a midi controller keyboard, then you should be able to use the sounds in your keyboard. If you want other patches, you'd have to find patches that are specific to your keyboard, and doing a search of any search engine should yield some results.
Just press the "P" on the midi channel, and you can choose the sounds from your keyboard within PTLE. Each different midi channel can have a different sound assigned to it. You should also be able to make your own sounds with your keyboard. Hope this helps. |

Re: Midi files for PC?
Maybe I explained this wrong or maybe I don't know what I am talking about, but the keyboard I have is a "controller". It does not have any sounds or patches or speakers or anything, it is merely a triggering device. Hence, I need GM and other sounds imported from somewhere.
