Default bounce to disk/ please help

I am having a problem. I ran bounce to disk and the recording seemed to be playing during the process. I listened to it with my head phones. When it was made into and .aiff file all I had was static no song at all. I tried it again and made it into a wave file. The same results. I can not figure out what I am doing wrong. Has any one else had this problem. Maybe I am going about this wrong. The end result I am looking for is to burn my song onto a cd. I this what I should be doing in order to accomplish that.
Thanks for yuor help I am fairly new at this Pro Tools thing.

You should do a search on this topic. There has been much discussion about it in the past. Without seeing what you're doing, the only thing I can think is that your bit depth and sample rate that you're playing back, is different from what you've bounced your track to disc.

chances are you've not selected the correct bounce source at the top of the BTD window.

Also, if you're trying to play the file in quick time or iTunes, make sure you've bounced as files it can play (16bit/44.1/aif or SDII/stereo interleaved)
