Control surface/mixer?
What is the difference between a "control
surface" and a "mixer"? I think i have been misled. Thanks, Tom |

Re: Control surface/mixer?
A control suface, is just what the name suggests. It has a load of faders and knobs that can control the functions within Pro Tools, usually by MIDI. Strictly speaking, a control surface doesn't handle any audio. A mixer, on the other hand, has several audio inputs and outputs, and can combine / process audio in various ways.
There are some hybrids, like Digi's Control 24 that both handle audio and can control functions within Pro Tools. Hope this helps Sheriton |
