Default PT9 and MOTO PCIe-424-based devices

Does PT9 see or function with MOTU PCIe-424 card and interfaces
like the 2408mkII?

Thanks,

Jon

Yes. The MOTU devices are ASIO compliant and work fine with PT9.

Except that PT9 will consistently crash if you select your PCI-424 CoreAudio device as the playback engine in PT and you have more than two interfaces plugged into the card.

Thanks for the info you guys. I'll be using 1, maybe 2 interfaces
plugged into the PCIe-424 so I guess I'll b OK.
I'll be using the PCIe stuff along with an M-Powered Project Mix I/O.
My old Yamaha O2R will be plugged into the 2408 mkII's

Has anyone been able to run two devices (daisychained) with this device with ProTools 9 using the ADAT I/O?

I have recently recommended this device to a colleague who is setting up a commercial studio and aims to run PT9. Running 24 tracks for simultaneous input is a must.

Thanks,

Thanks,
What do you mean by "two devices daisy-chained"? Do you mean two MOTU interfaces plugged into the PCI-424 card? If so, that will work just fine. (You have to plug each interface directly into the card; you cannot, and there is no way anyway, to daisy-chain them.)

There is a bug in PT9 that causes an instant crash if you select a CoreAudio device with more than 48 I/O as the playback engine, however, so as long as your friend has no more than two MOTU interfaces plugged into the card, he'll be fine.

The MOTU interfaces are extremely stable and robust, PT9 included. I've had them for six years now, got the Blacklion analog stage mod, and couldn't be happier.

That is good to know they are robust. Everything I have read about them has seemed very positive.

I meant; regarding the ADAT connectivity, of which the MOTU 2408 Mk3 has three different I/O, has anyone had any problems running two devices connected ot the MOTU interface, not the PCIe card?

Thanks,

I know this is an older thread, but I wondered if any of you using the 424 PCIe are able to achive a buffer of 32 or 64 successfully while tracking a band - without getting 6101 errors?

thanks!
