Installing Tiger on the new machine
Ok, so I called Apple technical support, and they told me that it was indeed possible to install Tiger on my new (January) Mac Pro 8-core.
Does anyone know which disks I would need? I know my macbook pro specific disks won't work. Do I just need to find any Tiger disk that wasn't specific to any computer? Or, are there specific Intel vs. PPC based install disks?

Re: Installing Tiger on the new machine
Hi,
Usually I´ve the same issue with my customers, yesterday I´ve tryed this successfully: - Find another mac capable to run both systems, Tiger and Leopard (Of course Intel). In my case an iMac core 2 duo, 2,4 with tiger installed. - Set this machine as Target Mode ( Pressing "T" when boots). - Connect it to your Mac Pro Via Firewire. - Boot up your Mac Pro pressing ALT and selecting the firewire drive as Boot Drive. - If your machine boots, that´s Ok! you can clone this drive to your Mac Pro. Note: Tested with a Mac Pro 8-Core and Pro Tools HD2 Accel. I hope this can help you.
