Best video format for Pro Tools 10?
My search resulted a thread from 2009. I need to render this video and use it in Pro Tools 10 as a guide to create my audio. I don't care about the quality that I see in pro tools since I'm only going to bounce the audio out. I just want the codec and format to be the least processor hog for pro tools. Any one having good results with anything specific?

Re: Best video format for Pro Tools 10?
Apple ProRes (422) and Photo-JPEG are very CPU-friendly codecs.

Re: Best video format for Pro Tools 10?
.MOV is a container. Any codec available to the QuickTime engine (H.264, DV, Pro Res, DVC Pro 100, DNxHD) can be within a .MOV container.
Blackmagic Design Video Cards If you are using an AVID Mojo or Mojo SDI, your only option for video that you do not capture is DV25 or AVID MXF DV25. Just because H.264 and HDV are qualified does not mean you want to use it. You may find that playback is jittery and that scrubbing is not as responsive. This is related to those particular codecs. Codecs that are less susceptible to jittery playback and unresponsive scrubbing are Pro Res, DNxHD, DVC Pro 100, and DV. Note that you need Final Cut (or maybe Apple's Compressor) for access to the DVC Pro 100 codec. I'm not discouraging the use of Photo-JPEG, but I have not tried it.
