Default Day AFTER New Pricing...Avid Offers Up To 20% Off On Ultimate Subs.

Just Got This In An Email...

• 1-Year Subscription, Paid Up Front – Save 20% $799
• Monthly Subscription, Paid Monthly – Save 15% $84.99 ($1,019.88 per year)
• 1-Year Subscription, Paid Monthly – Save 5% $79.99 ($959.88)

Apparently things didn't go all that well at the "high end".

What's wrong with giving old customers loyalty discount? In Finland telecom operators only give discounts to new customers which make people switch between operators every now and then.. I personally hate it, it's so backwards. Avid is just doing the right thing. IMO of course

Did everyone get the subscribe now and save email. .

My Avid account officially flipped to $199 per year.

As far as Logic is concerned. I did a lot of great things in Logic from 1999 to the mid 2000’s. You definitely can get er done using it but I found PT to be be more intuitive in many areas. Early on there was a lot of stuff in Logic that wasn’t necessary. ie (“The Environment” ) if any one is familiar with it. I hated The Environment in Logic.

Logic has come a very long way since then.
I'm not trying to sell Logic - I agree with many that PT has smoother audio editing/handling, and I also feel that PT does many things extremely well. I like it a lot.
My point is only that Logic (and virtually every other major DAW on the market) offer value for their updates/upgrades at a reasonable price, and in my opinion, Avid does not add enough value to justify their ever increasing price models (for Vanilla anyway). And also that Logic is not playing catch up with Pro Tools - they're just different beasts.

Nothing at all. One could ask THE SAME question of Avid and why they DOUBLED the cost of 1 year of Native/Vanilla Perpetual Support for "old loyal customers".

At their site they state for the $799 Subscription "Limited Time Offer! Take 20% off of this subscription plan - price already adjusted, no coupon code needed."

Yet these are the same prices announced last week. Are they going to RAISE Ultimate Subscription prices by the same percentage amounts after this promotion?

Interesting how Avid or the board staff MOVED the new thread and buried it in an old one.

Not a loyalty discount. It's available to everyone.

Not really. Starting a new thread just to multiply threads harping on the same issue is a waste. Nothing new was brought by starting a new thread -- all the same complaints are still the same.

That means I officially saved (under the current exchange rate) $AUD570.00 over the next 4 years...... might as well get HEAT so I can have some hot vanilla
