To avoid this problem, customers wishing to use Digi 001's audio outputs with a Direct I/O compatible third party application should use an external MIDI interface instead of Digi 001's MIDI in/out connection."
as a 'problem description' and ask them to have it fixed! The more users asking, the better the chances of having it fixed!

ASIO drivers are written (and supplied) by sequencer companies (in this case, Emagic) to communicate with our hardware via code embedded within the DigiSystem INIT (DSI) system extension called Direct I/O. DSI 5.0 is the first version to include support for the Digi001. However, there is a problem with Direct I/O accessing the Digidesign Output Drivers and the Digi001 MIDI ports simultaneously. This incompatibility has been addressed and fixed in DSI 5.0.1 which will be available on our website as soon as Pro Tools 5.0.1 is released at: http://www.digidesign.com/serv/ftpmaps/daedsi.html. Kickin...I saw your post yesterday and tried the midi port on the 001 with the new Cubase 4.1r2 - no go. As Brent (the man) suggests, I guess we'll have to wait a bit longer...as it's not a Cubase issue.

I dug up this string and tried clicking the URL to see if DSI 5.0.1 is available ("this page does not exist") Is anyone out there working samplecell with 001 without an external MIDI interface??
