Default Antelope Orion

Yes Orion tech support sucks big time, that being said the product is incredible I use it every day and it's supper solid, sounds incredible,, it will also work without the Madiface but Madi is the way to go, those who trash the product on this thread, do you own or use the Orion?
Cheers

I don't have an Orion - I have a Satori - but I've had trouble getting tech support, too. At this point I'm entirely unimpressed by the company itself though their products seem to be solid.

I am going to look into the ASUS MB.

Yes I own and use the ORION.

I would not have commented otherwise.

It's been 4 years now. Have things gotten any better with the stability? I'm thinking of Orion Studio or Orion 32+.

I've had many remote sessions and email exchanges with the support/developers and they have always been great and done their very best at trying to help me resolve my issues. In my opinion they're down to earth, friendly and personal. However, it wasn't always like this though.. but things have changed for the better in the last two years.

Anyway, here's why I was going to post in the first place. I made a theme for the Orion Studio (for both legacy hardware and Revision 2017). The theme also changes how the EQ and Compressor control and view numbers (read changes down below for more info on that).
I hope it can come into good use for some of you out there, enjoy!

NEVE-R Orion 1.0 is here!

About it
After much troubleshooting of the base code and countless hours creating the enterily new UI of the control panel it is finally finished and working on both platforms. The theme is heavily inspired by a number of different Neve consoles and preamps but I've still taken some creative freedom in style. I'm fairly positive to how it turned out and it's definitely much cleaner and slicker looking than the original Orion theme.

Known issues:
Depending on the scaling of the panel the shut off LEDs (Preamp, ADAT & S/PDIF tab) may shine through even though they should be off.

Hi-RES SCREENSHOTS:
Launcher
ROUTER
MIXER
AFX

Changes:
  • Edited all the needed files in order for the theme to be compatible with Orion Studio Rev 2017

  • Every section of the panel is reworked

  • Preamp, ADAT and S/PDIF has new knobs.

  • Antelope EQ and COMP has a brand new look.

  • Just like in my previous theme the Antelope EQ and COMP numbers are more accurate than the "vanilla" plugs.

  • The equalizer's gain now adjusts 1 dB each step instead of 2 dB. If you hold down shift you'll adjust 0.1 dB per step instead of 1 dB.

  • Antelope Equalizer's Frequencies can be visibly more precise (3 decimals).

  • Antelope Compressor's Ratio, Attack and Release can be adjusted more precise.

  • New icons for the launcher - They look very pixilated even though they are in high resolution, there is no way around the scaling of the launcher, sadly.

  • New Icon for the panel in Taskbar!

  • 48v, Link and Phase buttons all have individual LEDs. The LEDs were quite tricky to implement but turned out great IMO.

  • Mixer has brand new look + New sexy faders and pan, mixer pots.

  • Mixer has new Solo, Cut (mute) and Link switches that has a similar style to what can be found on the Neve VXS consoles

  • New and more minimalistic color configuration of the router.

  • Higher resolution textures for the Arrow down (preamp chooser), Solo, Mute, Stereo buttons and Reverb send / Pan potentiometers on the mixer.

  • New texture for Austria Gold 414 Mic (The mic is backwards + needs color adjustments)

Mine is rock solid these days except for the CP freezing sometimes but a quick reboot fixes that and I'm pretty sure the devs are working on a fix for it right now.
