What's the lowest playback engine buffer settings you are having success with?

For those of you on HDX systems and PC's, what is the lowest buffer size you are having consistent success using while tracking and at what sample rate?
Just trying to figure out if my expectations are unrealistic. :)

64, the lowest, unless I use dts upmix. Then I need 256.

64 tracking a few tracks, then 128. When mixing 1024 all the time.
