Locking in a clip n moving to a different track

How do you lock in the time of a clip so you can drag (move) it to another track and not worry about it moving ahead or beind of the time it starts at? Is there a key you can hold to lock it in place? Thanks.

Select the region, press and hold Control as you drag it to the required track.
