Default Decide MIDI in port per track ?

Is there a way to route a specifik MIDI in port to one instrument track, meaning you can use Pro Tools in a more flexible way when it comes to live MIDI instruments from different MIDI sources? Now you can only choose which MIDI in devices are available in a global setting, not per track?

Once devices and ports are set in Midi Studio, this works fine. I have used 2 keyboards and a Roland V-kit(all at the same time) to "play' MiniGrand, DB-33 and Addictive drums(on 3 stereo instrument tracks) with no cross-talk or issues at all. Midi Studio is where it all gets setup. Then select View>Mix Window Shows>Instruments, which adds a box at the top of any instrument track where you select the device that provides midi to that track/instrument(the plugin instrument)

Ahh, thanks , will try that!
I am not in the studio...but do you have to rec arm the tracks or is it a input monitoring feature for midi too...?

I do have to arm the tracks(hold Alt and arm 1, and all instrument tracks will arm), but I have the default thru instrument(in preferences) set to NONE.

FWIW, midi is somewhat of a mystery to me and I just keep poking at it until it does what I need
