Default Which Mac Pro for HD Native? 2008 8 Core or 2009 Quad Core?

What would be a better computer for a Pro Tools HD Native system running Pro Tools 10?

The 2009 is safer ... there are quite a few people reporting problems with the native card and 2008 mac pros. I have a 2008 Harpertown myself, and ordered the native card yesterday. It's a risk, but I'm still giving it a shot :)

meech, is it the early 2008 model (3,1 i think)? if so, that's the one i have and would be curious about your findings once you get it installed.

Me Too! +1 If I have to get a newer Mac Pro, HD Natve is a no go.

I got the HD Native & PT 9 HD on a 2008 macpro 2008 and have been using it with no issues at all since end of 2010. Using it for 5.1 film editing and mixing. Runs perfectly for me.

I have the 3,1 Harpertown Mac, 2.8 Ghz 8 core with 10 gb of ram. I'll let you know how it runs once it's here and I've tested it :)
