I have not read all 10 pages of this, only the first 3-4, but if anyone needs a High Sierra installer, I have a 10.13.02 installer, that one and Install Disk Creator makes a USB drive an install disk. PM or e-mail me.

I seem to remember it's generally considered that most people start hearing something as a delay after 12ms.
That said, I've tested this and there's definitely a grey area where my brain, when presented with the direct and delayed signal, will start to identify something as smearing by duplicates and it's around the 4ms mark. It's not clearly identifiable as an echo, but it is definitely fuzzy and not crisp.
Which is one of the reasons why I try to keep my latency under 4ms if I can.
Now, if you are not presented with the original (direct sound) and only hear the delayed version (like is the case with a guitar amp), I think it's maybe less distracting for us.
Yes we can adjust. Still, Sub 4ms rtl is preferred over super 4ms rtl, whether it's doable or often done in 4-12ms or not. quicker is nicer.

Also, the point is that HD Native offered this, is advertised as such and hasn't been stably performing like that for years now, where it did before.
Regardless of whether some of you think it's NECESSARY to record with such buffers, the fact remains that on my two systems, PT has been generally deteriorating in stability ever since PT11, no matter whether I'm recording at low buffer, producing at medium buffer or mixing at high buffer. Granted, I've more problems at low buffer than at high buffers, but it's definitely far from rock solid at high buffers.

PT has been consistently performing worse than PT10 for me, and since the PT11 revolution started half a decade ago, I'm frankly losing my patience over its growing pains.

Are you all happy campers?

Yes, so I'm particularly interested in how you other people have experienced the stability of PT since PT11.
- Recording at low buffers
- Producing at medium buffers
- Mixing at high buffers

Are any of you on 3.33 GHZ 6-cores? What are your experiences? Has anyone tried Mojave?
Does it seem like an improvement over HS?
Are any of you on 3.46 12-cores? What are your experiences? Has anyone tried Mojave?
Does it seem like an improvement over HS?

Thanks.

Both HS and Mojave have been very non crashy solid. Using amd mac edition video 7950.
Os 10.14 ive been able to work hdx at 64 buffer but eventually error.
In HS i could not
128 buffer several hours with VIs then a popup error.
256 all day no errors. Hdx has never been this solid.
Loadup from drives (ssd or spinners) seems slower.

But. I like solid working.
Sig is my test system im commenting on.

I'm on a newly upgraded 2x3.3 12 cores (originally 2x2.4), Mojave is rock-solid. And I have to say Pro Tools as well (2018.7). A very pleasing experience so far. I mix at 1024 and otherwise work almost exclusively at 128 - I mostly use VIs. No problem, no errors, no crash.

I updated to Mojave and then upgraded to PT2018 and now I crash on clips I want to edit and channel I attempt to move. Totally forgot to read the fine print (apple). Now after tracking a bunch of material I have to bump down to PT10 and work as I cant see on taking more down time to downgrade back to Sierra. Bummer. NEWB

Yep, PT isn't supported on Mojave yet so your mileage may vary...
