Audio Vision and Mac OS 8.0 or 8.1

Are they supported. Our demo system runs on 7.6.1. I would like a statement from Digidesign. An official one on letterhead would be great :)

Yes, Both Mac OS 8.0 and 8.1 are supported with AudioVision 4.1. I'll see what I can do about sending you a fax on Digi letter head confirming the same.

An additional note to Jon's post. 4.1 CD ROM updates will automatically be senbt to all registered users shortly. I don't have a release date yet, but I am expecting them to be ready the end of thes month if not sooner.

Three things:

1. We are dealers, and have Audio Vision in our show room, but do not have it registered, as we may sell it to someone. Can we please have the update sent to us as well. Should / Do all digidesign dealers of this product get the update sent to them, if only for reference and customer support????

2. Has anyone seen AudioVision crash when you click in the menu bar. Yep. Click in the menu bar. Just like when you want to use the menus, only now you can't because everytime you click in the menu bar, it crashes?? Just installed OS8.0 and AV4.1v1 and well...


3. I have seen on the web updates for AudioVision. This is great work from Digidesign's AudioVision department. What about similar thing from Avid. I suspect there is a new version of AvidDriveUtility and the other bits????

My AV 4.1 v5 crashes when clicking the menu bar, but only when i've imported an OMFI from a MC, usually when there is a clip in the omfi with more than 20 characters in the name. MAC os 8.

This is a problem we are familiar with.

Upgrading to Media Composer 7.02v1 and AudioVision 4.1v6 should take care of it, if not give me a call here at Tech Supt. 650/842-6699.
