Pro tools 8 freezes on loading windows 7 64bit
After installation, i run pro tools and it keeps loading on the startup.
I removed IE8 from the "turn windows features on and off" since it cannot be removed entirely from the system. i ran pro tools as administrator and nothing changed. im currently downloading the v8.0.5 update and its taking forever.. but im not sure it will change anything.. Could it be from the pc compatibility? here's some specs Model: Rfrb HPE-510t Processor: Intel core i7 - 2600 CPU @ 3.40 Ghz GB ram : 12.0 GB Software: Windows 7 64bit professional Graphic : NVIDIA Geforce GT 440 3Gb Please help i need it asap for work I cheked other threads i didnt find anything useful |

Re: Pro tools 8 freezes on loading windows 7 64bit
Use the 8 install disk and run the uninstaller utility(with the interface disconnected). Have the 8.0.5 updater downloaded and sitting somewhere handy(like the desktop). Start over and follow this method(PT8 is not compatible with Windows 7 without the updater). Run the PT8 installer. When it asks you to connect the interface, DO NOT CONNECT. Just click okay, let the installer finish and reboot. Now run the 8.0.5 updater. When the updater asks for the interface, DO connect it. Let the updater finish and reboot. Now try opening Pro Tools and have your authorization code handy(the one that starts with "DIGI08......").
You didn't mention what interface you have, so if its a USB interface, carry on as described above. If its 002 or 003, leave the firewire cable connected and use the power switch. Never plug or unplug the firewire cable with everything turned on as it can fry the firewire port in the 002/003 interfaces.

Re: Pro tools 8 freezes on loading windows 7 64bit
Hey thanks a lot. i have a mini mbox 3 usb.
i did every step and it's still not working. now when i installed again the pro tools 8.0.4, i encountered an error saying "there was an error with avid driver" or somthing similar.. but it carried on. now when i installed the update (after reboot and after plugging my mbox) there was an errror with anti piracy PACE saying that the ilok doesnt work and that i should update to the latest one. i had it instaled before but i did it again. and reboot. and still nothing changed. its freezing on "pro tools loading... im going insane here I reinstaled the update by selecting "repair" and everything workd perfectly this time, it didnt stop on pace anti piracy thing. reboot. nada.. |

Re: Pro tools 8 freezes on loading windows 7 64bit
This also goes for CPU overload errors.
Your GeForce graphics card might be causing this. AVID only supports Quattro. I had a similar experience. |
