Default Screen Capture Software

Hello Everyone,

I'm working on a game project at the moment. I need to get a video of game play footage into Pro Tools. Can anybody recommend some screen capture software? I've tried a few, even ones that have the option to export as .H264 but everytime I import them into Pro Tools it either says they are not supported or it just plays back a blinking green screen.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

James

Are you on OS X ? It's built in and will record your desktop to a QuickTime. Just google the command keys. If you want to be fancier then on OSX I used Screenflow to make videos for Pro Tools Expert

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the quick response but I'm on Windows 10. I'm guessing screenflow is just for OSX?

Neil said "A free one, OBS (open broadcaster software ) or you can use VLC in a similar way to how you use QuickTime on a mac, I use a paid one called bandicam"

Camtasia

grab the trial.

Also .h264 is CPU intensive, you may want to try another format. Instead of rendering to .mp4 try .mov

Get OSB. It's completely free and works well.
