sequence mpc2000xl with triton exreme

please help,I have a mpc2000xl and a triton extreme.The problem im having is.I have drum samples on a zipdrive card i would like to used but when i record a drum sequence in the mpc and try to record strings or brass sounds from the triton I cant hear the drum sequence form the mpc.only the suond from the triton.I have the mpc and triton midi up together. I have a G5 Digi 003rack protools.
